End of School....Finally!

So I'm back tracking some more and filling you all in on the happenings of our day to day life. Last week Brighton and I were invited to Mrs. Lampert's kindergarten class at Fire Lake Elementary to have a pizza party for the last day of school. I have subbed for her quite a bit this year (she is in our ward) and her kids called me teacher #2. They were so fun and they loved seeing Brighton! Well it was a fun way to end the school year. And Brighton even got a visitor pass which she was fascinated by!

A nice little weekend surprise

I'm sorry I haven't updated so well lately! Here's a little backtrack for you all. Well, this past weekend we got a knock on our door at about 11:15 at night and lo and behold, it was my great friend Evelyn! We like to call her the nomad. At one point she lived with us for a little while and she tends float from one house to another, but we love it! She also is a night owl which sometimes isn't that hard to be when you live in Alaska and it's light all the time! Well, we ended up talking until 3 in the morning and she stayed the night. It was just like old times! I have really missed her (She is living in Fairbanks right now working at an awesome engineering firm) and was so ecstatic to see her and hang out! Thanks for visiting while you were in town Eve!

Sunkissed Suzie Q

Sorry it's been a little while for any updates! There hasn't been a whole lot of activity in the Comin household. But I just wanted to post the pics of Brighton last weekend and her first little sunburned cheeks! I thought pics were super cute so I had to share! Hope everyone has a good Memorial Day weekend!

A family affair

This weekend we were lucky enough to have awesome weather! It was nothing but blue skies so we had to partake of it by biking our hearts out! Brighton got this cool bike carrier from grandma and G-pops so we have been loving our lives being outside. I thought I would share these pics and let everyone know that it is officially summertime here in AK! Hooray!

Standing Stretchies

We recieved a great package from our great friends the Meegans yesterday! Inside were these super cute stretchies and a matching skirt for Brighton's b-day! We love them! And now she really can workout with mommy! Also I wanted to show everyone how good Brighton is standing! She has been able to stand on her own for about a month and a half and I've never gotten around to posting any pics of it (basically because I haven't taken any pics of it!). So here she is! I think she'll be walking anyday now! Well, we wanted to show off our awesome present and thank our best friends the Meegs and tell them how much we miss yoou! Thanks again!

A day at the cannery

Today was our first trip to the cannery in Palmer and it was a pretty fun experience! We have been trying to start our food storage but it has been a little rough due to the temporary situation of our lives. We at least wanted to see how everything works there and I have a friend who has a lot of food storage recipes that I'd like to try so we thought we'd start up the whole process. It was great fun and I'd recommend doing it for anyone who already hasn't! Well, they gave us these hairnets to use while canning and we thought Brighton might like them, but she obviously didn't!

Ravenous Reader

Brighton has gotten into this reading fetish. She likes to pretend to read by flipping the pages and blabbing her little brains out! It's super cute! Well, I've been subbing a lot lately so the posts have been short and sparce. My apologies but up until the end of the school year things are hectic so things will be sporadic on our end!

Tissue Tantrum

Brighton loves tissues. Hates to actually use them on her nose, but loves to eat them! It's so hard to try and keep her nose clean and the doctor says she has allergies which makes her nose run like crazy so it's a constant battle to keep them out of her mouth! She's stubborn just like her mom!

The Princess of Pots and Pans

Brighton's new fetish is to open the bottom kitchen drawers and pull out all the tupperware and pot/pan lids. It's her favorite pastime! I can't get over how much of a little girl she's already becoming!

Wedge of the Diaper

When we took Brighton's clothes off to give her a bath last night, we found she had a diaper wedgie! She had one full cheek completely hanging out! We thought it was so funny we had to take a picture of it! We'd also like to point out the chunkiness of the legs. We went to the doctor's office on Monday for a 1 year appointment and they said that she is in the 5th percentile for weight! Can you believe that?! I sure as heck can't! How can someone with legs like that be in the scrawny percentile? Beats me!

Twinkle Toes

So last week Bright and I had a little girls' night and we painted our toenails! It was super fun and she was unbelievably cooperative! It took no time at all and there was no mess! She still has no hair so I've got to make her look like a girl somehow! Here's a start!
