Birthday Rundown

The birthday party was a success! Our theme was Pigs (Don't ask me why. That's what B wanted.) So we had pin the tail on the pig, a pig pinata and a pig cake. It was a very pink day. Brighton had a lot of fun but I think she was just a touch little and was kind of overwhelmed by everyone's eyes on her. When we all sang Happy Birthday to her, she started bawling! Maybe, it was the age, but maybe some of it was her timid personality in public situations. Anywho, it was great fun and we appreciated all the fun friends that came to celebrate her big day. This pic really capture the essence of what Brighton was feeling like when everyone sang to her.She finally warmed up and was excited to blow out the candles..
Here's the colorful arrangement before the kids devoured every piece of sugar possible.
Our homemade drawing skills came up with this piggy (pre-pinned with the tails). Everyone loved the pinata and got a chance to hit it before Carter annihilated the cardboard pig.
Our friends, Afton, Haley, and John came to join the festivities.

Brighton got loaded (thanks to great friends) with lots of great girly gifts. From dance tutus, barbies, and bubbles, she's set for a while.

Our little piggy eating her little piggy.
Even Porter had a great time at the party playing with Aunt Case and Uncle Ty.

Thank you so much to everyone who made her day so special!

Technical Difficulties

I just wanted to let everyone know that we're still alive, but for some reason our internet has not been working. We are up in American Fork right now visiting family so that's the only reason I'm able to post (sorry no pics). We hope all is well with everyone else and hope we can fix the technical error soon. Until then, keep on keepin' on.

Easter Activities

So the weekend was full of Easter fun! First, we started out on Friday by painting easter eggs with Casey and Ty and Brighton had a ton of fun. She was so proud of her eggs and even made one that said "I love Daddy" (with a little help from Kyle).

Next, on Saturday, we went to the biggest easter egg hunt in the state of Utah at the library park. It was early in the morning and it had been sunny all week but unfortunately it decided to rain AND snow! We didn't dress for the weather like most other people, so Brighton was freezing and as soon as those eggs were snatched up, we were in the car. She did have a good time grabbing for eggs though.
Here's the hourd of people. It was madness. Brighton's in the bright pink hoodie and I'm in the bright green one.

This is the freezing cold Brighton holding her Halloween pumpkin full of Easter eggs.

And here's the much happier and warmer Brighton when we went inside to have some donuts for breakfast at Lin's grocery.

Then on Sunday, the Easter bunny struck and filled our home with lots of yummy candy and stickers and toys. Brighton even got cute little bunny ears so she could dress up as an easter imposter. Porter even enjoyed his links from the big furry guy.

After that, we went to church, had a nice Easter dinner with Casey and Ty, and played bocce ball. We couldn't have asked for a better weekend, celebrating our Savior's resurrection with our great family.

The Birthday Girl

Today is the birthday of one of my very best friends, Clarissa! She is so great and we've been friends since the beginning of my marriage. We've been through a lot together and here are just a few pics of us through the years. Her and her fam live in Texas now and even though they are far away, I can still call her and talk for hours like we never moved away! I miss her so much! We wish we could see her and her cute fam soon! Happy Birthday Claw!

We hope your day was great!

We met in Rexburg and hung out every other night. Here I was prego with Brighton and we had a Birthday party for Pat. We had some good times in that Lyman house!

They were the first to come to the hospital and Brighton. What great friends!

We love and miss you! Hope to see you in the close future!

Tea Time

Ever since Christmas, Brighton has demanded a tea party every hour, on the hour, 7 days a week. It was our only gift for her and she can't get enough of it. We will find her and her tea set everywhere around the house. Also, if our house isn't equipped with cookies for a day, a disaster has struck. We have to have "tea and crumpets" (water and cookies) everyday! She even has to drink with her pinky up as seen below. She is such a cute little girl with quite the personality. Brighton being as proper as can be. She learned this from the Backyardigans.

Here's a picnic tea party with some of her favorite crumpets...pumpkin chocolate chip cookies.

She even likes to include Porter in on the tea party action.

One of the more comfy and favored places to dine...Our bed.
So, the tea set has been a hit. I'd say those 4 years we spent in England when I was little taught me to be sophisticated and refined and apparently I passed it onto my classy little girl and her love of hosting distinguished parties. I think it's one of the best $5.00 we've ever spent.

Shirley Temple

Brighton loves getting her hair done. So a few Sundays ago she wanted "curls like mom" and here is the result. Everyone at church called her a little Shirley Temple and I couldn't get enough of those cute little locks! Oh and this is the beginning stages of Brighton giving the cheesiest of smiles in every picture I take as you can see above! More of the cheese to come!

General Conference Donut Night

So we kind of started this tradition with Casey and Ty to make donuts one night of General Conference weekend. It was a success like other nights past and the donuts were absolutely delish! You can see the proof in our smiles! Everyone gathered around the tasty treats.Mr. Perfectionist himself, dunking the donuts in the homemade glaze.
Uncle Ty and Brighton partaking of the goodness.

Casey, Porter, and I loving our donut-filled selves.

This was after she had like 6 donuts!
The donuts were great and so was conference. I always love getting spirtually uplifted by our church leaders and richly stuffed by delicious donuts all in one weekend!

Things are Looking Up

Porter's favorite thing to do right now is roll over so he can get a good view of things just a touch higher. He can even sit up for a few seconds at a time! He's getting pretty curious and fun lately! What a cutie!

The Little Guy

I finally got a little bit of Porter laughing on video so I thought I'd share it with everyone because it always makes me smile. This is basically for my parents to see, but I hope everyone else can enjoy it too! It takes a minute for him to get started and it's not his normal bust-a-gut self, but it's still fun to watch so wait for it!

Special Visitors

My sister Sarah and her boyfriend came all the way from Montana to see us for their Spring Break this week! We had so much fun getting to know Grant and hanging with Sarah! Brighton was in love with "Aunt Sariah" and wouldn't leave her side. Sarah and Grant are both graduating from the University of Montana this May and are moving to Portland after, so we're not sure when we'll be lucky enough to see them again, but we loved every minute of their trip to Cedar! Thanks for coming guys! We appreciate it!

Aren't they cute together?
P.S. We definitely approve of Grant!

Spring Break... Continued

In addition to going down to Vegas, we went up to Kyle's parents' house to visit a bunch of family. We met Violet, Brighton and Porter's newest cousin who was super cute! We also hung out with Mel, Alea, Annie, Landon, Grandma, Grandpa, Keri, Dan, Livi, and the rest of our family. It was a lot of fun and great to be with the fam. Here is the cutest new addition to the Seelye household. Violet Anne Seelye who's the daughter of Dan and Keri Seelye and the sister of Olivia Seelye. Isn't she adorable?
Brighton and her cousins are getting so fun to watch play! They can actually interact and play on their own. Mom was definitely not wanted around when she was playing with her"best friends".

Also, while we were there, the Twilight movie release party was at every Wal-Mart around so my mother-in-law, Melanie, Alea and I went to the Riverton Wal-Mart to meet a "special mystery guest" that was announced on the radio. Well, the mystery guest turned out to be the vampire Victoria from the movie. Cool right? There were so many people there dressed up in Prom dresses and vampire garb that it was insane. Once we caught a glimpse of Victoria, we were out of there, but it was kind of cool to see all the hype. Unfortunately, we didn't get any good pics of Victoria because we weren't close enough and we weren't about to wait in line to meet her, but it was still a good time. Thanks Wendy and Mel for taking me!This is the crumby picture I got of Victoria. If you squint really hard you can bearly see her arm in a striped shirt. Lame, I know.
Here's the mass of people including Wendy.

There was a bunch of food and prizes there. No winners in the Comin family though.

All-in-all it was a great trip filled with fun family times.
